Carbide Ceramics｜Silicon Carbide Ceramics (SiC)

Silicon carbide ceramics is a kind of black ceramic. Compared with other precision ceramics, its mechanical strength has a small decrease in high temperature environment (1000 degrees), and its corrosion resistance is high. Because of its strong covalent bond, it has the highest hardness and corrosion resistance among various precision ceramics. It has excellent properties and good sliding properties in liquids. Taking advantage of these characteristics, it is widely used in mechanical seals, chemicals, bearings, etc.

In addition, it has a high Young's inverse modulus and a small expansion coefficient, so it is used in high-precision parts (such as optical parts).

Due to its dense sintering, it can be mirror-finished, with a high temperature resistance of over 1400 degrees, thermal shock resistance, excellent chemical stability, and high thermal conductivity. Its high-purity silicon carbide is often used as parts of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
